Announcing Collaboration with the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS
Facing Change: Documenting America (FCDA) is proud to announce
a multi-faceted collaboration with the Library of Congress to archive and publish our
photographs and stories of the American people.
The Library’s Press Release:
The Library of Congress under construction, Washington DC, 1890.
Progress towards completion: 1893.
Completed in 1894, the Library has expanded and grown in the more than hundred years since.
The Library’s vision is long-term and historical. These images of its construction are both beautiful and intrinsic to its, and our, mission. We look forward to the work we will create together.
FCDA is a 501(c)3 non-profit that derives all funding from private foundations and
public entities with initial support from the Open Society Foundations of the Soros
Foundation, Leica Camera, France Télévisions, and Photoshelter. Individuals interested
in donating to FCDA can do so online at www.facingchange.org. Media, corporate and
foundation interest in FCDA may contact Beth Davies at bdavies@facingchange.org.
